Who we are

BRINLEZ PTY LTD (ACN 700 392 909), Australia. Contact: brinlez@brinlez.com.

What we collect and how

Only what you write in the application form: your name, email, city and country (optional), your profile, where you are right now, your interests, how you found us (optional), why you want to be part of it and your question (optional). Questions you ask the concierge that it can't answer are kept so a person can reply. We remember the language you choose with a functional cookie; we don't use tracking cookies. To stop abuse we count requests per IP address in a counter that expires on its own (within 1 hour at most) and is never stored with your application.

Why

To review your application, order the review queue and reply to you (see “Automated decisions”). If you tick the news box, we'll also write to you with Brinlez news; you can unsubscribe at any time.

Automated decisions

A transparent computer rule (stage, profile, detail of your motivation and interests) orders the application review queue. It never accepts or rejects anyone on its own: a person who sees your full application always makes the decision. The language you write in never adds or removes points. If you want to know how yours was ordered, write to brinlez@brinlez.com.

If you don't give us the information

Without your name, email, motivation and consent we can't review or reply to your application. Optional fields don't affect whether we review it.

Legal requirement

No law requires us to collect this information: we ask for it only to handle your application.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or pass on your information. These providers handle it on our behalf and only to provide their service to us: Cloudflare (domain, DNS and network protection; it sees your IP address and technical connection data across its worldwide network of data centres), Vercel (web hosting; our functions run in the United States, Washington D.C. region) and Upstash (the database where we store your application, in the United States). So your information is likely to be stored or processed outside Australia, mainly in the United States. If we add another provider that handles your information, we will update this notice first.

How long

Up to 12 months from your application; after that it is deleted automatically, unless you are already part of the community and ask us to keep it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to access, correct or delete your information by writing to brinlez@brinlez.com. If you think we haven't handled your information properly, write to us first; if you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
